Nahyuck fic fest collab Interview <3

starligth: (Default)
I'm not exaggerating when I say that writing halfway home with Robin has been one of the highlights of my 2020. It was so much fun to work on this together, and the result was amazing, especially because we were both so happy with it! <3 So when we finally posted it, I thought what better way to end the process than interviewing each other about the experience itself?

Here are the questions! :]

Writing rants

starligth: (Default)
a while ago, i had an impending deadline, but not much inspiration to write. i picked a prompt based off a movie for renmin ff, a movie which i really really liked, but the process of writing the fic wasn't as smooth as i thought it would be. at first, i thought that since i had a lot of material to work with, it couldn't be that hard, right?

i was absolutely wrong, but i have no one to blame but myself. i do better with prompt based fic fest because it gives me a direction, a start, something to focus, and most of all, a deadline. the problem this time, was, of course, myself. i got too caught up in trying to insert my  characters in the movie, in trying to give them good enough motivations to fit the narrative and the plot. i think i lost my own love for the prompt somewhere along the way.

i think that’s exactly why i ended up dreading working on it. but i pushed myself, and in a bit less than 6 hours i wrote 4k words, which is a lot for me. i didn't take any breaks, except for lunch, but at least i managed to finish in time to join the collection. honestly, even when i finished editing (grammar, mostly), and i still didn't know if i was happy with how it turned out.

Writing Goals for 2020

starligth: (Default)
already 20 days into 2020, but honestly, not that late hehe. a few goals for this year! i'm excited!

✰ 50k words: i don't really know why i went with this number since i already wrote 60k in half a year in 2019 but ahh i guess i don't feel the need to preassure myself with wc since i feel like most of my fics aren't that short anyways. this is the first year i make writing goals so i'm just going to focus on other things rather than wc, but this is a nice start.

4 published fics (not counting fests): one fic every 3 months sounds doable, but we will see. i got some prompts/ideas/concepts, but i find it so hard to commit to one, so 4 sounds like a good numbers.

1 multi chapter fic: honestly, to this day, chaptered fics kinda scare me. i find it really hard to commit for long to a story, and back in my anime fandom days i never could finish any chapetered fic i started orz. so 1 chaptered fic seems like a good challenge for me.

1 action based fic: i've written an action fic before and i really enjoyed it, but it's been a long time since then. i feel like it would be cool since it's different from all the works i made last year. let's see how it goes.

okay, that's all! :>
see you at the end of the year, hopefully ✰
